sharon leavySharon worked from an early age of eleven in a family hairdressing business Hair Flair in Tullamore. At the age of 14 she began training as an apprentice hairstylist while continuing her studies. Topics covered where styling, cutting, colouring, hairdressing theory and practical skills etc. In 2006 she graduated from Portlaoise College of Beauty and Complementary Therapies as a beauty therapist after successful completion of her CIDESCO, CIBTAC, and ITEC examinations.

In August 2006 she got accepted to work for the International cruise line Company Steiner. Steiner Leisure Limited is the largest global provider of spa services and operations, a manufacture and distributor of premium skin, body and hair care products and and accredited educator in teaching students the skills necessary to be a spa professional including massage, skincare and spa management.
Steiner's maritime and Resort Spa divisions operate in over 175 venues on land and at sea . Sharon worked as a Facial and Body Specialist while being promoted to assistant Spa manager, she won awards for Best Producer, Making Money and in 2009 she furthered her education by returning to the Steiner academy in London to further her education in Advanced Management Training. From there she progressed onwards to become Spa manager on luxury cruise liners. As spa manger she was solely responsible for the daily spa operations ,developing vendor relations, over seeing and motivating spa sales, implementing strategies to achieve performance targets, ensuring guests were receiving 5 star treatment while training and mentoring staff.

To date Sharon completed five contracts and has worked on the Noweigan Spirit, Sun, Pearl and Gem. In January 2010 she returned home on vacation with the view to return 6 weeks later, but since then she became the proprietor of Portlaoise College of Beauty and Complementary Therapies. The college was established in 1997 and is a licence'd CIDESCO, CIBTAC and ITEC accredited college. The college has gone from strength to strength and is synonymous with excellence in beauty therapy training throughout the midlands. In August 2010 the college also became the first Steiner training center in Ireland. It is renowned both nationally and internationally for its high standard of training and expertise. Upon completion of requisite training courses, graduates progress to become very successful professionals within the industry, not only in Ireland but also across Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Dubai.

Throughout Sharon's career she has exceeded her own expectations, her soul motivation is continually challenging herself at any opportunity. Recently we have just opened the doors to our salon within the college "Slann-sha" in Gaelic meaning health. Our exclusivity is magnetic by ensuring each of our students is trained to be the "best they can be" each and every client will receive their salon treatment from knowledge, confident and caring salon experts who will not only make each client feel wonderful, but will also educate oneself how to continue caring for themselves every day through home care programs including diet exercise and self-care rituals.Ultimately it is our aim to produce excellent beauty therapists without limitations.
